"Ever since I first saw The Beatles play live I knew that
music was going to be my life. There's nothing that comes close to playing live or putting
out a good record - it really is that simple."
CHRIS WILSON: A
FEW WORDS OF INTRODUCTION...
Guitarist and multi instrumentalist Chris Wilson is the ex-singer of the
best-remembered line-up San Francisco's cult classic band The Flamin' Groovies and a
long-term member of The Barracudas, another band with a dedicated and loyal fan base that
stretches right around the world.
His musical
career's highlights include the classic Flamin' Groovies album Shake Some Action [1976] -
one of the finest pop albums of its time. His songs and music have appeared in Hollywood
movies, including Clueless [1995], and are repeatedly covered by other bands. The
Groovies version of Shake Some Action, recorded at Capitol Studios, also appeared in
a 1996 episode of the Nash Bridges TV show, Key Witness.
Now
resident in North London, the US-born musician continues to record and play, most recently
with his five-piece band the Groovin' Flames, which toured across Europe in 2006 to
ecstatic audiences. As for the future, Chris has plans for a new album and more gigs.
